Riders who are under the age of 18
CTC Cambridge welcomes young people who are under the age of 18 on our rides.
Where young people are involved there are a few extra rules we have to follow.
All riders under the age of 18 (whether member or not) must have a signed CTC parental consent form signed by their parent or guardian (see below for an exception). This form must be given to the ride leader at the start of the ride.
Riders under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult acting in loco parentis. Please note that a signed parental consent form is still needed. There is no lower age limit, though please be aware that our rides make no special provision for children.
The only case where parental consent is not needed is where a young person having reached the age of 16 is no longer living with their parents or guardian and is living as an independent adult. In accordance with national CTC guidelines we ask that the rider bring some evidence to demonstrate this, such as a rent book or utility bill showing their name and address.
